Veronica Gaylie is a writer and teacher from Vancouver. Her first literary book was Sword Dance: A Celtic Poem (Exile, Toronto). The Toronto Star named it a notable book and Veronica one of “Ten Rising Authors You Have to Meet.” She’s also published two books of environmental writing and her work has appeared in Canadian and international journals. Her writing was long-listed for the 2020 CBC Poetry Prize and short-listed for the Geoffrey Dearmer Prize (Best New Poet UK). An award winning educator, Veronica’s taught in schools, universities, communities, and lead writing workshops for youth in London, Kenya, Detroit, California and East Vancouver. Veronica has an MFA (2024) in creative writing from King’s College Halifax. In 2025 she was writer in residence at Deer Lake in the City of Burnaby. Veronica lives in Vancouver where she writes and teaches.
