Veronica Gaylie is a writer and educator from Vancouver. Her first literary book was Sword Dance: A Celtic Poem (Exile, Toronto). The Toronto Star named it a notable book and Veronica one of “Ten Rising Authors You Have to Meet.” She’s also published two books of environmental writing and her essays and poems have appeared in Canadian and international journals. Her writing was long-listed for the 2020 CBC Poetry Prize and short-listed for the Geoffrey Dearmer Prize (Best New Poet UK). An award winning educator, Veronica’s taught in schools, universities, local communities, and lead writing workshops for youth in London, Kenya, Detroit, California and East Vancouver. Veronica completed an MFA (2024) in creative writing from King’s College Halifax and currently lives in Vancouver where she writes and teaches writing.
